Arnolfo di Cambio

Arnolfo di Cambio (born c. 1245 in Florence, died c. 1302 in Florence) was an Italian arist and architect.
He started his carreer as assistant to Nicola Pisano in Siena, working on the pulpit in the Duomo. He quicly became renowned for his skills, and was entrusted with the job of constructing the outer circle of the city walls at Florence, and the corn-market in the same city.
He went to Rome in 1277, and started working for Charles of Anjou. In Rome, he was influenced by Classical and Late Antique sculpture as well as the French Gothic style.
