GFDL or public domain images are strongly preferred on Wikia. Copyright-violating images are subject to deletion. Copyright information must be added to the image description page of every uploaded image.
Images may also be licensed under a compatible license, such as Creative Commons BY-SA. Images must be free for anyone to use or modify for any purpose.
Fair use images[]
While fair use is theoretically acceptable on Wikia, they are not allowed on this project due to the following reasons:
- Fair use is a concept specific to US copyright law; most images of interest to this site are likely to be protected in Italy or another country in the European Union causing a potential for legal action.
- Fair use images must be small, low-resolution versions, and will usually not be of sufficient quality to use to depict works of art.
- Content on the site should be free for all to use. If fair use images are allowed here, a hotel, travel company or church in Rome who wishes to print pages for their visitors must first remove images.

All images must be tagged with the appropriate license. Any license tag at Commons:License tag is acceptable, but not all of them have been created here.
