Marble

Marble is a metamorphic rock made from metamorphism of limestone. It consists mainly of calcite, a crystalline form of calcium carbinate. Marble is a common material for sculptures and buildings.

It is also common to use the term about any type of stone that is capable of taking a high polish, such as granite.
