Franciscan church dedicated to St Isidore. National church of Ireland. History
The church was founded by Spanish Franciscans in 1622, the year that St Isidore was canonized.
In 1625, it became a refuge for Irish Franciscans. The Irish College was established here, and remains on this site.
The friars dispersed during the Napoleonic occupation, and a group of Nazarene painters settled in the monastery. Interior
The Cappella Da Sylva was designed by Bernini in 1663.
