Santa Maria Stella Maris is a modern parish church at Viale dei Promontori 113, in the district of Casal Palocco which is in the north-east of Lido di Ostia. Hence the name -"Star of the Sea", which is a popular title of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It was designed by Ennio Canino and built in 1977. The plan is very unusual. The main body of the church is square, but there are three equal-sized segmental extensions with roofs sloping down to the square. The fourth side is the entrance, and has an enormous floating canopy with the outer edge being a cut-out segmental arc.
