Santissima Trinità dei Spagnuoli is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
[edit] History
The church was built for the Spanish Trinitarian friars in the middle of the 18th century. The architect was Manoel Rodriguez dos Santos, a Portuguese.
[edit] Interior
The church is in the Baroque style, with an elliptical plan. The central chapels on each side has paintings of St John of Matha and St Felix Valois, surrounded by slaves. This refers to the purpose of the Spanish Trinitarian Order, which was the redemption of Christian captured by Moors and sold as slaves.
